Inspired by my classmates...

She slowly grew thinner and thinner
Because she would never eat dinner
Being the skinniest
She won some lame contest
Where skeletons crowned her the winner.

All the college students rolled
In laughter at her words of gold
Wondering why she
Talked like a baby
And found she was just ten years old

Throughout the world, people would stare
At her lovely poker straight hair
But one day they caught her
And poured on it water
Her curls gave them a massive scare

She spoke with utmost wit and candour
Never did her thoughts meander
But the sad part
Is she was so smart
That no one else could understand her

A friendly informative tower
Who discreetly wields immense power,
She tells funny stories
And makes you feel at ease
But can silence all with her glower

The girl was a bit of a g(l)eek
And a highly organized freak
Always under stress
To make more progress,
Her teenage bones began to creak

Coffee, she says with a wink,
Is a very powerful drink
It makes you go wild
And scream like a child
But heightens your power to think

Her words like most deadly bees stung
Though each witty insult she flung
Was comic and clever.
They knew they would never
Need cutting tools besides her tongue.

Procrastination, thy name is... the same as mine

Since it’s my general tendency to procrastinate, especially before exams, I might as well put up a post about it, since it would prove I’m not procrastinating in at least one area. Also, mom’s on the phone and won’t hang up, which means I can’t get any extra info for my paper right now, so I might as well do this until the internet’s back. Ha ha, can’t wait for her to read this :D
On second thoughts, I have nothing (I want) to say, so I’ll do this later…
PS – I’d say this post has served its purpose in more ways than one

World Cup Final 2011 Highlights

WE WON!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Even *I* am excited. In my head, I’m still doing cartwheels all over the place! I may usually shun anything cricket related, but hey, WE WON!!!!!!!!
The game was exciting to the very end, and it had some brilliant moments, even if you leave out the great performances by many of the cricketers. Here are some of my personal favourites:
The neat sixer by Dhoni that won us the World Cup! :) :)

Bhajji crying and wiping his tears with the national flag. Couldn’t help going “aww!” Mom and I were just hoping he doesn’t get into trouble for that.
By the way, I was looking for pictures of this and got many results back from the time he slapped Sreesanth and made him cry, and though I felt sorry for the kid at that point, he looked so funny crying! (I’m sadistic like that) Here are a couple of photos:

Sangakkara’s speech – He looked so sad I felt really sorry for him, but such a beautiful, gracious speech, and such a lovely accent! I still haven’t found a link :( but as soon as I find one, it’s going up here.

Sehwag’s spot interview – I hardly know what he’s saying…

Dhoni’s speech (This is so classic, it actually deserves a separate post dedicated solely to it and nothing else, but it also has the Indian team with the Cup, so here)
“Jokes apart” – Wait, what were you joking about??
“Well in India that will be rude you know” – Haha, okay :D
“Hard luck Gautam, but I think he’s the one to blame” – Er… what?
Well, “jokes apart”, it’s nice that he’s so self-confident. And why wouldn’t he be? He helped us win the World Cup, and (at least for now) we all love him.

Update: I found Sangakkara’s speech! :)
